Most of them didn’t come to me for a part. They came with a list — screenshots, a forum thread, a video timestamp — and asked me to price it.

JDM. Muscle. EUDM. Stance. Track day. A stance build and a track build are not the same car with different wheels, and a Muscle V8 has nothing in common with a EUDM turbo four except the invoice. Five different jobs, five different orders — and the same catalogue sitting behind all of them.
And in five thousand conversations, one thing was almost always the same. Not the car. Not the budget. Not the experience level.

That the intake at the top of the list was there because it had been measured. That the friend who said “do the exhaust first” had seen a before and after. That the shop recommending a bigger intercooler had a sheet in a drawer somewhere.
So I’d ask one question: “Where’s the pull?”
Nobody ever had one. In twelve years, not once did somebody arrive with a baseline dyno sheet and a plan built on top of it. They arrived with a list assembled by people who had never measured anything either — who had got it, in turn, from people who hadn’t.
